Our story

A small room that
fills up early

We opened on Church Street because the Village deserved a café that takes the coffee seriously without making a performance of it. Good beans, pulled properly, at a price that lets you come back tomorrow.

Breakfast runs all day, because nobody should have to explain why they want eggs at four in the afternoon. The pastries come from bakers a few streets away, delivered each morning, and when they're gone they're gone.

The patio is heated and open year round. In January there are usually people out there in coats, which we think says something good.

Best flat white in the Village and it is not close. The staff remember what you order after about the third visit, which I did not expect from a place this busy.

Came for coffee, stayed four hours working. Nobody hurried me, the WiFi held up, and there was an outlet at the table. That is genuinely rare downtown.

Lovely little room and very good pastries — get there before ten if you want the almond croissant. Gets busy at weekends, so expect to wait for a table.
